The Northwest Soccer Foundation hosted its World Cup Community Clinic in White Center, Seattle, bringing together 50 registered kids for a free, community-first training day. The goal was simple, remove barriers to access and deliver a high-quality soccer experience that felt organized, intentional, and welcoming.
Players and staff from West Seattle Junction FC and West Seattle Rhodies FC were on the field throughout the clinic, supporting sessions and working directly with players. Their presence helped create an environment where kids could learn in real time from players and coaches who are active in the local soccer ecosystem.
Jungla Soccer supported the planning and structure of the clinic, helping design the schedule and drill flow. Alex Mejia and Jurgen Rondon worked closely on session organization to keep groups moving, engaged, and challenged without overcomplicating the day. The focus stayed on reps, clarity, and enjoyment of the game.
West Seattle Junction Head Coach Mike Mata, who is also a co-owner of Jungla Soccer, helped anchor the clinic on the field. His involvement reflected the collaborative nature of the event and the shared commitment to serving the broader community, not just individual clubs.
The goalkeeper session was led by Dorian Lair, Goalkeeper Coach for West Seattle Junction and owner of Lair Athletics. The session focused on the key foundations of the position including catching, communication, and position.
Support off the field mattered as well. West Seattle Junction and West Seattle Rhodies owner Jessica Pierce and General Manager Cory Hinthorn helped supply the clinic with snacks, drinks, jerseys, t-shirts, and stickers, making sure players were taken care of throughout the day.
This clinic is part of a broader effort to expand access to soccer as the region prepares for the 2026 World Cup. With additional funding from King County through the Open Goal Initiative, the Northwest Soccer Foundation plans to host multiple camps and clinics in partnership with West Seattle Football Club, Lair Athletics, and Jungla Soccer throughout the spring and summer.
