About

Our Mission

The Northwest Soccer Foundation (NWSF) is dedicated to making soccer accessible to everyone, regardless of background or financial status. Through scholarships, grants, and community programs, we create opportunities for youth and adults to play, grow, and thrive through the beautiful game. We focus on uplifting underserved communities, including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC groups, because we believe soccer is for everyone.

Our Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors brings together leaders from soccer, business, and the community who care deeply about removing barriers and creating opportunities for players, coaches, families, and clubs across Cascadia. They’re not just overseeing our work, they’re in the fight with us, shaping strategy, reviewing grants and scholarships, and holding us accountable to the mission. Every decision they make is about keeping the game accessible, keeping the Foundation transparent, and making sure resources land where they matter most. When you support the Foundation, you’re backing a team of directors who believe in soccer’s power to unite, inspire, and transform lives.

Who We Serve & Why

Our foundation supports soccer players, coaches, and organizations throughout the Cascadia region—including Washington, Oregon, and neighboring states. Whether you’re a young player in need of financial assistance, a community club striving to provide more inclusive programming, or a coach looking to grow the game, we’re here to help.

Soccer has the power to unite people, break down barriers, and create life-changing opportunities. We recognize that financial hardship, lack of resources, and systemic barriers often prevent individuals and organizations from fully engaging in the sport. By stepping in to provide funding, mentorship, and strategic support, we ensure that soccer remains a force for good in our communities.

Our Programs

  • Scholarships & Grants: We provide financial assistance to players and teams who need help with registration fees, travel costs, and equipment.
  • Community Soccer Programs: We organize clinics and events aimed at increasing participation in soccer, especially in underserved areas.
  • Support for Clubs & Organizations: We offer grants and resources to help teams, clubs, and Organizations to help expand programming, improve facilities, and reach more players.
  • Inclusivity Initiatives: We work to make soccer a safe, welcoming space for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC athletes, fostering equity and diversity within the sport.

How We Work with Large Organizations

We partner with corporations, nonprofits, and community leaders to expand our impact. Whether through sponsorships, in-kind donations, or strategic collaborations, we work alongside major organizations to provide resources, funding, and expertise. Our partners help us run programs, build facilities, and create opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach for many in our communities.
